Leah Heiss is a Melbourne-based designer who works at the nexus of design, health, science and technology. Her process is deeply collaborative and she works with experts from nanotechnology through to manufacturing. Her current projects include new forms for hearing technologies; biosignal sensing jewellery; emergency jewellery for times of crisis; and advanced textiles to detect biosignals.
Her process is material-driven and my design practice has both research and commercial outcomes. Increasingly my practice incorporates designing and facilitating user engagement sessions and co-design workshops across healthcare, technology and engineering. Her practice has commercial, research and academic outcomes.
